The one everybody sees

Concrete Driveways for Alcoa Homeowners

A driveway is the concrete you use every day and the first thing anybody sees from the street. We cut and compact the base, form it to a real fall so water leaves the slab, set the steel for what is actually going to park on it, and finish it clean — from a straight two-car pad to a drive that runs a few hundred feet out to the road. New pours, full replacements and repairs across Knoxville, Maryville, Alcoa and Morristown.

Alcoa is Maryville's neighbor city in Blount County and sits inside our regular service radius, so getting the crew out there is routine for us.

Graded so it drains

Water that stands on a slab in East Tennessee gets into it and freezes. We form to a real fall so the driveway sheds instead of ponding.

A base that holds

Most failed driveways failed underneath first. The ground gets cut, filled and compacted before a single form goes up.

Tear-outs and replacements

When the old slab has heaved or cracked through, pouring over it just moves the crack. It comes out and the new one goes in on a base that will not repeat the problem.

Repairs when it is worth repairing

Not every driveway needs to come out. We will tell you straight which case you have instead of selling you the bigger job.

Alcoa Questions

Frequently Asked

Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free and we come to you — Knoxville, Maryville, Alcoa, Morristown and the communities in between. We walk the actual job instead of quoting a number over the phone.
Are you insured?
Yes, Maldonado Concrete carries insurance. If your HOA, your builder or you personally want to see it before we start, just ask and we will get it to you.
Who answers when I call?
Jhonny does, himself, from 8am to 9pm every day of the week. The person you talk to on the phone is the person who will be on your job.
How long before I can use my new concrete?
It depends on the pour and the weather, so we give you exact dates for your job before we leave — when you can walk on it, and when you can drive on it. We would rather you wait an extra day than mark a slab you just paid for.
Do you replace old driveways or just pour new ones?
Both. If the old slab has heaved or cracked through, pouring over it only moves the crack, so it comes out and the new one goes in on a base that will not repeat the problem. If it is worth repairing instead, we tell you that.
Do you take small jobs?
Yes. A front walk or a small pad gets the same crew and the same standard as a full driveway. If it is concrete, call and ask.
How far do you travel?
About 60 miles out from Knoxville. That covers Maryville and Alcoa in Blount County and Morristown up in Hamblen County with room to spare. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call and ask.
Do you pour in the winter?
Concrete has rules about temperature, so winter pours depend on the forecast. We schedule around the weather and tell you straight when the right window is, instead of pouring on a bad day just to keep a date.
